Yang Hansen's G League Debut: 8 Pts, 13 Rebs, 4 Asts | Rip City Remix vs Valley Suns Highlights (2025)

Yang Hansen's G League debut with the Rip City Remix was a mix of promising plays and areas for improvement, showcasing his potential while highlighting the adjustments needed for his development.

Published on November 15, 2025, this report by Joe Freeman of The Oregonian/OregonLive details Hansen's performance. He had a productive, and winning, debut with the Rip City Remix. The Portland Trail Blazers rookie center put up a stat line of eight points, 13 rebounds, and four assists on Friday night at Mullett Arena. This contributed to the Remix's comeback victory against the Valley Suns, with a final score of 107-104 in Tempe, Arizona.

Hansen, who was assigned to the Remix on Thursday, started and played 29 minutes. During this time, the Remix outscored the Suns 68-45 in the second half, securing the win. The 7-foot-2 center from China started strong, making his first two shots, including a driving two-handed dunk. However, he struggled from the field overall, making only 4 of 11 field goals and missing both of his three-point attempts. But here's where it gets interesting: Hansen's contributions extended beyond scoring.

In the third quarter, Hansen secured an offensive rebound and scored a layup, followed by back-to-back assists. The first was a well-placed bounce pass, and the second was a no-look pass during a fast break. Later, in the fourth quarter, he added another assist with a precise pass.

This game was Hansen's first since October 29, when he scored two points in four minutes during a Blazers win against the Utah Jazz. He began the season in Portland's rotation, averaging 1.8 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.4 blocks in about six minutes over the first five games. But, when veteran center Robert Williams III returned from injury, Hansen was relegated to the bench and hasn't played since.

He is expected to play again for the Remix on Sunday against the South Bay Lakers in El Segundo, California, before rejoining the Blazers after their five-game East Coast trip.

Do you think Hansen's performance in the G League indicates a promising future? What areas do you think he needs to focus on to improve?
